Even with the nearly 13 inches of SNOW at the beginning of this past week & another 6-11 inches forecast for today, Saturday, SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER & ALL OF VILAS COUNTY NOT OPEN.

TRAILS WILL NOT OPEN until after the 9 Day Gun Deer Hunt(which ends Sunday, Dec. 1), 10 Day Muzzleloader Season(Dec, 2-11) & 4 Day Anterless Season(Dec. 12-15).

In the meantime clubs have been busy securing easements, relocating trails, brushing & signing and packing snow into the wet areas. Plus a final club inspection of the trails to remove down trees & branches from the last snow storms. All to get ready for inspections by the Vilas County Parks & Rec Administrator.

When all 11 snowmobile clubs in Vilas County have been inspected the official opening date will be announced

Won’t be long now! See ya on the trails sometime in mid-December.
