Your Online Trail and Travel Guide for Snowmobiling the U.S. & Canada

Trail Report – : Hurley, Wisconsin – December 20, 2022

Reporter:hurley@hurleywi.com
Trail Conditions: Good
Snow Cover: 4--8
Date of Report: December 20, 2022
Area Report:

The White Thunder Rider trail system covers a wide range of land types which all require different development each season. We can say overall that our currently open trails are in good condition for this point of early season, and some may even say great. Our trail-by-trail description will continue each Tuesday and Thursday until we have all trails “opened” by our machines. We received about 5 inches of fluffy snow again last night, and single-digit temperatures. So today our trails are listed as follows:
2- GROOMED
2a- GROOMED
3- GROOMED (Connects with MI trail 160, now OPEN)
6- GROOMED
7- GROOMED North and South of the Clement Swamp (The Clement Swamp is not frozen yet, and should not be ridden without experience. We will snow bridge it for the Iron County Forestry Department when we are able based on it freezing)
8- GROOMED
8e- GROOMED
8b- GROOMED
8w- NOT OPEN
13- GROOMED
13b- NOT OPEN
13c- GROOMED
13s- NOT OPEN
15- GROOMED (wet areas along WestBranch Rd)
15a- GROOMED (reroute on Anderson Rd and wet areas that just aren’t freezing completely yet)
15n- NOT OPEN but snow-bridged and hopefully groomed on Thursday
17- GROOMED
17a- GROOMED
77- GROOMED last night
Please remember to ride with a buddy during these ever-changing early season times as conditions are changing daily. Also be prepared for severe cold the next couple days. Ride safe. Ride right. And watch for the groomers working long hours to get everything ready for your fun this holiday season!
