Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: Fair
Date of Report: January 4, 2021
Happy first week of the New Year and boy are we glad to kick last year to the ditch! Had a great holiday week in the Lake Gogebic area – lots of people and a good blast of snow to make conditions favorable (with the help of our amazing groomers!). Mild temps and low levels of activity is what is in store for this week. Groomers are out and will continue. Keep dancing for more snow!
Couple of notes:
- Trail 1: Water hole North of the Gogebic Lodge. It’s not deep, but use caution as you can do damage to you and your sled if you try to cross too fast. Groomers marked and attempted to fix – just use caution..
- Trail 8 West: The trail between Bergland and Wakefield was broken open by groomers on December 30th and a drag went through on 12/31. PLEASE USE caution as the trail has bare spots, water spots and lots of brush yet! . These conditions changes daily with the swamp!
- Remember, please, please, please stay on the trail system everywhere you go. Lots of riders have been venturing off trail and making private land owners mad. This causes trail closers and a lot of headaches for our clubs. Just a little cooperation can avoid a lot of conflict.
Michigan restaurant restrictions permit outdoor dining and take out only. These restrictions will be reviewed and any changes will be announced by Jan 15.
Thank you very much for your support of the Lake Gogebic Area! We look forward to seeing you soon!
Also – please support the clubs where you ride!
This is Mary Beth with AJ’s Walleye Lodge wishing everyone a Happy New Year on behalf of all the business owners, groomers, employees and volunteers who work hard to make sure we maintain the best outdoor playground in the country!!! God Bless!
