Snowmobile clubs and county staff have cleared a majority of snowmobile trails after the December storm event. Most of these trails have been groomed at least once. All trails will officially open as of January 6th. Please be advised that portions of Trail 8, west of County Highway K, may not be fully cleared and groomed before the weekend. Trails in the Birchwood area are completely cleared and while we anticipate that all trails will be groomed, there may be sections not completed by the weekend. In addition, Trail 239 in the Shell Lake area has not been groomed due to wet conditions in a swamp crossing. Trail conditions should be excellent in those areas that grooming has been completed. Please ride with caution as we continue to finalize trail opening efforts and stay on designated trail surfaces.
