Date of Report: January 8, 2019
Area Report:

Some Washburn County Snowmobile trails opened on Saturday, January 5th. Trail #8 both east to Sawyer County and west to Burnett County is open. And, the Wild Rivers Trail (Trail #35) from Minong (Jct. of Trail #8 and #35) north to Douglas County is open. All other Washburn County Snowmobile Trails are closed at this time. Trail conditions are considered poor, with a 1 to 4 inch ice and snow base, due to warmer than normal temperatures and rain.  Trail conditions do vary and riders may encounter ice, rough trails, some standing water conditions or no base at all. Some trail segments may be ungroomed. Generally, trail conditions are better in the northern portions of the county. Keep thinking snow so we can get the other trails opened as well!
