Lake Minocqua Partially Marked for Snowmobile Traffic
Minocqua, WI — Lake Minocqua is building ice slowly and continues to improve in quality but a few open areas and dangerously thin ice areas remain.
The lake has been partially marked as of Jan. 23, 2020 by the Cross Country Cruisers snowmobile club. The club highly encourages everyone to stay next to the markers and barrels at all times as this is the safest option when venturing out onto any lake.
The trail that travels east to west under the Hwy 51 bridge is closed and is deemed unsafe for travel due to very inconsistent and thin ice conditions near the HWY 51 bridge.
All temporary road routes in Minocqua are now closed due to the new access on area lakes.
See the attached map with the marked lake trails detailed in blue and all temporary routes that are now closed, in red.

News and Reports:

Cross Country Cruiser Trail Report as of 1/23/2020
All of our trails are open, groomed and in great shape, with the exception of the logging Vandercook and the detour on the Bearskin. Please follow all of the detour signs and trail markers.
Respect private land owners. Without them we’d have less trails.
Ride right, ride safe, ride smart, but most of all enjoy the ride!
REMINDER OF AREAS CLOSED FROM LOGGING AND TRAIL 17 (Trilby Lake) EAST OF 51 to Closure is shared!! Watch for logging trucks!!
