*Please note – The Saunders Grade Trail will be closed for the entire 2018/2019 winter season due to significant damage caused by June 2018 flooding.*

The area received approximately 2-3 inches of new snow on 1/21/2019. All trails under the management of the Douglas County Forestry Department are now open for the season with the exception of the Saunders Grade. 

SW Quadrant

All trails in the SW Quadrant are open at this time. 

SE Quadrant

All trails are open at this time. Most trails are groomed and in good condition.  The base is icy in many areas, please use caution.  

The segment of trail 41n which was closed is now open and is in fair condition. Watch for signs delineating a newly developed route and please watch for logging activity. 

Trails 41S, 41B, 541 are all scheduled for grooming on 1/23/2019. 

Trails 217 and 17N will be groomed on 1/24/2019.

Trail 17S is open but rough in many spots due to lack of snow. Please use caution. 

Trail 3 is in good condition but very icy, will not be groomed again until more snow falls. Please use caution.

NE Quadrant

Please watch for low hanging brush and limbs.  

All trails are open. Conditions vary from good to very good, even excellent in most places.  Trails are better to the north and thinner and icy to the south. 

All trails with the exception of Trail 635 have been groomed. 

NW Quadrant

All trails are open and everything has been groomed recently except for the Crosstown Trail which will be groomed by 1/23/2019. Trails are in good condition with icy segments.  Please watch for brush and low hanging limbs. 

Douglas County Ski Trails
The area received approximately 2-3 inches of new snowfall. Grooming and tracking of the trails are set for 1/23/2019. The trail is currently in icy and poor condition. 

Superior Municipal Forest – All trails were groomed on January 22.  The tracks have been set on the red and green trails. This week is a free ski week for the Lake Superior Ice Festival, no pass is needed through Sunday, January 27th.

After Hours Ski Trail – Is reporting good conditions, but slick.  New snow has fallen; conditions should improve with grooming over the weekend. Please watch for some debris especially under the pine trees.

Pattison State Park – Is reporting good conditions with minimal debris.
